Silver Luna Art was born out of my love of painting, creating and experimenting with colour.
All artwork is produced using the highest quality materials, mediums, paints and finishes. Each painting is allowed to cure for at least three weeks before being finished with a professional quality gloss varnish for lasting protection and shine.
Environment and Sustainability- I only use non-toxic materials when painting. I am also passionate about minimizing waste and reducing pollution and re-use equipment (such as mixing cups, bowls etc.) whenever possible or use sustainable, recyclable materials when its not.
I use acrylic paints to create my art work. For fluid art pieces, paints are thinned to the appropriate viscosity to suit the particular technique that is being employed. For palette knife pieces, heavy body acrylic paints are used.
I am greatly inspired by the natural world. I love the sea and tend to use a lot of blues- turquoise, aquamarine and sapphires being my favourite shades. Jewel tones feature prominently in my art work too- ruby, emerald, amethyst and peridot, often complemented by shimmering gold and silver.
Each piece of jewellery is assembled by hand using quality materials. Miniature hand painted canvases are framed using hypoallergenic stainless steel and each piece is then carefully finished with a glass overlay using artist quality adhesive.
